About Us

Who We Are Founded in 2006, Whistlefritz was started by a mom who wanted to teach her own children Spanish. Frustrated by the lack of high-quality Spanish immersion programs, she decided to create her own Spanish DVDs and CDs for children … and so Whistlefritz was born. Our goal is to support parents, grandparents, and teachers – whether native Spanish speakers or not – in teaching Spanish to children. Our Spanish DVDs and CDs for kids are designed to be accessible to native and non-native Spanish speakers alike. That’s one reason why we include translation guides with all our programs. Our goal is to create the most effective Spanish immersion teaching tools for children. That’s why we love receiving parent and teacher comments! Our Philosophy

Focus on Fun!
Our philosophy of teaching Spanish is simple: children are naturally curious; they enjoy learning languages; and they love to have fun! If a Spanish program is stimulating enough to engage a child’s sense of curiosity and entertaining enough to fulfill a child’s sense of fun, then learning Spanish will happen naturally.

Again and Again …
Repetition is the key to learning Spanish, or any language! Whistlefritz Spanish DVDs and CDs are designed to captivate kids from the first viewing, and keep them coming back again and again. Our Spanish DVDs and CDs feature themes and characters that kids love – animals, puppets, dance, music, and play. That’s why children want to watch them over and over again. Kids love the programs and, with repetition, learn Spanish without even realizing it!

Immersion is Important!

Our Spanish DVDs and CDs teach Spanish through total Spanish immersion, which research shows is the most efficient and effective way for children to gain fluency. Why? It’s human nature. Like adults, children rely on their most familiar language to try to figure out (or translate) the meanings of words. Spanish immersion empowers children to learn new Spanish words from the context in which they’re introduced -- the same way children learn their native language.
